Russia-Ukraine tension LIVE
The Russian army has entered two provinces of Ukraine, Luhansk-Donetsk (Donbos area). President Vladimir Putin declared these two states of Ukraine as independent countries 13 hours ago (3 pm Indian time). After this the tanks of the Russian army moved towards these areas. Putin said this was necessary to maintain peace in Luhansk-Donetsk and the separatist-held territory.
Meanwhile, Britain has confirmed Russia's incursion into Ukraine. British Health Secretary Sajid Javid said – Russian aggression has started in Ukraine. On the other hand, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that we are not afraid of this move of Russia. We have neither taken anything from anyone nor will we give anything to anyone. Zelensky said Ukraine's international borders will remain as they were before, despite Russia's announcements and threats. The UN Security Council called an emergency meeting after Putin's move to declare two Ukrainian provinces independent.
